Our Love Story

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Meeting My Boaz

Do you believe in fairytales? Well I do. It is a tale of a woman who God connected to a man through divine order and events. Sometimes when you least expect it. God allowed though a tragic event, my deliverance from the pain of the loss of my baby sister and released him from the loss of his wife. God looked upon me and orchestrated my connection with Bob who lived three thousand miles away, my Boaz who I will live with for the rest of my life. God knows what He is doing and has joined us together to accomplish the work that He has called us to do. To Him be the glory for what He has done.

First Date

Our first date was held at Mario’s Restaurant in Detroit, Michigan.  My friend Rhonda asked if I would take Ilene out while she was here visiting her Aunt and attending a seminar.  Well, the good Samaritan I am, agreed, not knowing that this was a God setup.

We had a very good time and enjoyed each other’s company.  This led to more dates and more talking and smiling at each other with curiosity.

From this meeting led to a long distance relationship that has blossomed into a FABULOUS love story, and we are the stars.

This came as a surprise and a last minute decision.  Ilene had asked me to come to St. Thomas to meet her son’s friend and I agreed.  But, as I was packing the night before leaving, I hear a voice telling me to go get the ring.  I looked around and said what ring?  I’m the kind of person who, when I hear that voice will obey with no questions asked.  I’ve learned this over time.

So, in my obedience, I went to the mall and looked around that the sales lady keep telling me to buy a certain ring.  I said, I’m not sure, let me look around more.  So after about an hour I came back to the store and bought the ring she said that was for my future wife and it just came in that day.

Well, when I proposed to Ilene, she didn’t say “yes” she said “when”.  Then she said “How did you know my ring size?”.  I told her I just picked out a ring and didn’t think about that.  Then, she said “How did you know that was the ring I wanted”?  I was stunned and said what are you talking about.  She said she put a picture of a ring on her refrigerator that if she ever got married again that is the ring she want.  We both sat there for a while in amazement.

As I said in the first date above, this was a God setup.

Thank you God![/vc_column_text]
